IEEE Software seeks practice-oriented special issue proposals for the 
magazine's 2009-2010 calendar. Specific topics of interest include, but 
are not limited to, the following:

* Functional languages and programming

* Trends in programming paradigms

* Domain-driven design

* Domain-specific languages and language engineering

* Evolutionary and incremental software project planning and management

* Trends in parallel processing and implications for software development

* Retrospective on agile methods: accomplishments, shortcomings, and 
failures

* Leanness and agility in large-scale software development

* Performance engineering of software systems

* Platforms, languages, and frameworks for of web systems development

* The programmable web; end-user development on the web

* Software development for entertainment and education

* Organizational and managerial patterns of software development

* Continuing education of software professionals; state of software 
engineering education and training; perspectives on certification and 
accreditation

* Software craftsmanship

* Advances in algorithms: what software developers need to know about 
new trends and advances in algorithms

* Integrating user-centered approaches into software development

* Human and social aspects of software development

If you are interested in guest editing a special focus section on one of 
these topics or another topic that you think might be of interest, 
please submit a vision/concept statement explaining your idea by ** May 
7 ** to Hakan.Erdogmus AT computer.org. Attach short biographies of all 
guest editors. Submissions (including biographies) should not exceed two 
pages. Authors of the selected submissions will be invited to develop a 
full proposal.
