Dear Atif,
Many thanks for your suggestion. I indeed tried Senna before and it is fast and easy to set up. However, the labels created are not as sufficient as Illinois one does. I also tried another one inside mate-tools http://code.google.com/p/mate-tools which is also not.
>From the two demo sites:
http://cogcomp.cs.illinois.edu/demo/srl/?id=14 (Illinois SRL)
http://barbar.cs.lth.se:8081/ (Mate-tools SRL)
and Senna output, with the experimental sentence: "A squirrel is storing nuts to prepare for a seasonal change in the environment.", I concluded it.

Or is it not true and anything wrong I have probably got?

Best,
Leslie

Dear Leslie,
I recommend you to use SENNA, a software distributed under a non-commercial license, which outputs a host of Natural Language Processing (NLP) predictions: part-of-speech (POS) tags, chunking (CHK), name entity recognition (NER), semantic role labeling (SRL) and syntactic parsing (PSG).
You can obtain SENNA from  http://ml.nec-labs.com/senna/

SENNA is fast because it uses a simple architecture, self-contained because it does not rely on the output of existing NLP system, and accurate because it offers state-of-the-art or near state-of-the-art performance.

SENNA is written in ANSI C, with about 3500 lines of code. It requires about 200MB of RAM and should run on any IEEE floating point computer.

Hi Illinois guys,
I am quite interested in your NER and SRL work, well done!

For the SRL, I am having problems to build it. The component "Preposition SRL" in Curator(1.1.2) can't be setup. It failed to build because of missing the libs: preposition-role-0.1.jar and relations-core-0.1.jar. I found a different version for the first lib inside SRL (4.1.1) package: preposition-role-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar, while I can't find any for the second.

May I obtain the right libraries for the component somehow please? And may I know the current development status for the SRL please?

Really appreciated.

Best,
Leslie
