Hi Everyone,

The director of IIIT Hyderabad will be here this Thursday (May 13th) to talk 
to UIUC PhD students in CS and ECE regarding interesting opportunities for 
faculty positions in India.

In particular he will discuss faculty openings, salaries, benefits, etc. in 
India, including IIT-H and the Information Technology Research Academy that 
will be soon announced by the Government of India.

Following are the relevant details:

Title of the Talk: Opportunities in Academia at Indian Institute of 
Technology Hyderabad and Information Technology Research Academy (ITRA)

Abstract: The landscape of higher education in India is changing rapidly. 
With the announcement of new Indian Institute of Technologies and the soon to 
be established Information Technology Research Academy, there is significant 
impetus for innovation and multidisciplinary collaboration at Indian 
universities. This talk will highlight opportunities in this new frontier for 
academia in India. In particular, Prof. Sangal will discuss faculty openings, 
salaries, benefits, research grants and scholarships at these new 
institutions. This will be of interest to students pursuing PhD degrees in 
Engineering, Sciences and Business.
