4th Int'l Workshop on Requirements Patterns (RePa'14)

Karlskrona, Sweden, August 26, 2014

held in conjunction with RE 2014

--- Call for Papers ---

========================================================

Submission deadline: June 2, 2014

========================================================

Dear colleagues,

We invite submissions to 4th International Workshop on Requirements Patterns (RePa'14), which will be held in Karlskrona, Sweden on August 26th, 2014.

For more details, see: http://www.utdallas.edu/~supakkul/repa14/

Motivation

Getting requirements right is critical to the success of just about any software development project, and yet oftentimes challenging and in need of a large amount of knowledge and experience. "Patterns" have been used to capture knowledge of software development, concerning software architectures, designs, and more recently requirements engineering too. This workshop provides an open forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and experience, regarding pattern-based approaches to capturing, organizing, and reusing all aspects of requirements engineering-related knowledge, from both product and process perspectives.

Scope

In line with the Workshop’s objectives and previous editions, RePa’14 continues to solicit requirements patterns and pattern languages that capture knowledge of requirements engineering processes and products, including but not limited to:

▪ Requirements modeling patterns

▪ Requirements engineering process/activities patterns

▪ Application/domain-specific requirements patterns

▪ Application/domain-independent requirements patterns

▪ Goal patterns

▪ Social aspect patterns

▪ Scenario patterns

▪ Workflow patterns

▪ Business patterns

▪ Problem patterns (e.g. anti-patterns, mis-use patterns, fault patterns, attack patterns)

▪ Functional requirements (FRs) patterns

▪ Non-functional requirements (NFRs) patterns

▪ Requirements to architecture/design mapping patterns

At the same time, RePa’14 also welcomes papers that can bring requirements patterns closer to real world application. For such papers, topics of interest include, but not limited to, the following:

▪ Pattern recommender/retrieval tools

▪ Pattern reuse tools & processes

▪ Standards for describing and sharing patterns:

▪ Standard description templates

▪ Standard interchange formats such as XML

▪ API Standards for Repository/Tool Services

▪ Open-access knowledge repositories for patterns

▪ Pattern organisation & management

▪ Industrial case studies

▪ Experience reports

▪ Learning from other fields

Accepted papers with at least an author presenting at the Workshop will be published in the IEEE Digital Library.

Submission

Each submission is required to meet the requirements listed below and will be reviewed by at least two Program Committee members. Accepted papers with at least an author presenting at the Workshop will be published in the IEEE Digital Library.

Formatting Requirements

▪ Written in English and formatted according to the IEEE formatting instructions (http://www.utdallas.edu/~supakkul/repa14/formatting.html)

▪ Page limits:

8 pages for long papers

4 pages for short papers
