for an extensive online catalog of patterns. Also, try to find a copy of

This book is a simple catalog of over 700 patterns broken down by application
categories and related patterns. References and citations are provided.
Addison-Wesley published a large series of pattern related literature in
the late '90s and early '00s. The 4 volume "Pattern Languages of Program
Design" is a fundamental library of practical pattern usage. See them
