Dear List members,

I'm pleased to inform you that the following paper has been accepted for the Writers Workshop in the 18th conference on Pattern Languages of Programs  (PloP 2011):

- Process Design Pattern and a Realistic Information Model

http://java.net/projects/jt/downloads/download/Papers/MDPinformationModel.pdf

I would also like to thank Michael Stan for his comments and
recommendations for improvement as part of the PloP 2011 shepherding process.

Based on our previous discussions, this paper also addresses the following
aspects:

1) A more detailed discussion regarding the idea of a realistic software/information model. It expands and clarifies the associated concepts. The main goal is to make the material/presentation easier to grasp. The concept of Biomimetics is also employed:
"Biomimetics, also known as design by nature, is the examination of nature, its models,
systems, processes, and elements to emulate or take inspiration from, in order to solve
human problems. The term Biomimetics comes from the Greek words bios, meaning life,
and mimesis, meaning to imitate.

2) A Mathematical model based on the realistic information model and the messaging primitive. Turing-completeness of the proposed model is demonstrated. Please keep in mind, that this  Mathematical model is still work in progress. The main goal is to provide a solid (formal) Mathematical foundation for the proposed information/messaging Model and its messaging primitive.

3) Implementation considerations and best practices.

Any additional comments and/or suggestions are appreciated. As usual, please try to be as specific as possible in terms of you comments, recommendations and questions.

Regards,

Al
